Amanda Sayers
I am Amanda Sayers and my hometown is Los Angeles, CA. I work as a toy designer for one of the world’s leading manufacturers of play materials. Dodgeball for me is more than just a sport, it's a family. I joined my first dodgeball league during my senior year of college as I was writing my Senior Anthropology thesis on recreational dodgeball in West Hollywood. I initially thought it would be something I played for a year until I finished my paper and that would be the end of it...but I was very wrong. [ Read More …]

Anne Koester
Hi, I’m Anne Koester and I work in Communications in New York City, NY. I first participated in dodgeball on the hard wood court of my parochial school, when I was somewhere around 7 years old. This was pre-uber-litigious USA and they were still allowing compulsive and uncoordinated grade schoolers to reverse expensive orthodontia in gym classes around the country, or at least around Indiana where I was raised. I adored it. [ Read More …]

Brandon Cook
I’m Brandon “The Hulk” Cook. I live in Corvallis, OR where I work as a tile and masonry apprentice. My first real experience with dodgeball was on hot pavement as an elementary school child in P.E. class. I was hit out and while walking to the queue line a stray ball came across my body and broke my right thumb. After that, I avoided the sport whenever possible and tried to get out of playing it. Brett Batky
Hi, my name is Brett Batky. I live in Bethesda, MD with my wife Christine, and work in Arlington, VA as an accountant. My earliest dodgeball memory was playing on the blacktop during summer camp. I was running around, dodging throws, when a ball got caught between my feet and I fell down hitting my head. A lot of crying and screaming followed because I was terrified of my own blood, but I was right back out there the next day. [ Read More …]

Brett Granfors
I’m Brett Granfors and I work as a print operator in Nassau, NY. Growing up I've always been active with either baseball or softball. First time I had the chance to play dodgeball was in 9th grade gym class. It was great, but only lasted two days because the second day I handed out two bloody noses. We were using volleyballs I may note. That was the last I played until a pick-up league started in 2008 at the Albany armory. [ Read More …]

Ed Prentiss
I'm Ed Prentiss from the small town of Ellington, Connecticut and I have been playing dodgeball since before some of my US teammates were born. In grade school (and today) I was smaller than the other kids but always felt there wasn’t a ball I couldn’t dodge or catch. Back then, my arm could hold it's own too. Nowadays my shoulder says otherwise.

Falcon Punch! It’s one the first things most people hear/witness when meeting me on the court and has become synonymous with one’s own impending doom. The catch phrase eventually gave way to the nickname, Captain Falcon.
