Hi I’m Nicole Badics. I’m originally from Kent, WA and currently live in San Diego, CA. I work as a contractor for the US Navy. I have always been into sport whether it was watching or playing. In high school I played on the soccer and rugby teams. I moved to San Diego for the Navy and I continued to play rugby when I could. I started playing kickball, and I also play flag football and beach volleyball on the weekends. I recently went out and bought a bike so I am trying that out now. I just like to be active, I like to think it is what keeps me young and moving around.
My first experience playing dodgeball was in elementary school. It was fun but not as great as it is now. I never thought that I would be playing dodgeball competitively until after I met some players at a rugby dodgeball fundraiser that my team was hosting for our club. My first competitive experience was at a Sunday practice that we hold in San Diego. I was nervous even though it was only a practice and had no idea what to expect. After that night though I was convinced that I found my next sport that I was going to dive into! The rest is history, I haven’t stopped playing!
I have been playing dodgeball for just over two years now and love every minute of it. I consider my strengths catching and I have a decent arm. A couple things that I am working on to improve my game is consistently screening the court and being able to break down what ball to catch when multiple are thrown. I am okay, but believe that once I can be more consistent with both of those then I will become a better player/teammate.
